We are in the midst of planning our 2nd Spring Greening event on Saturday, April 24. Working in conjunction with the Boise Neighborhood Association’s Clean Up Day, we know this event is going to rock! If you are interested in participating with us such as a performer to play on our stage, a vendor that would like to display, “green and sustainable products” please feel free to contact Devon Hood at dmhmgmt@comcast.net. Stay tuned for more information.

Look what’s new….

Our newest business owner,  Mee-SenThai Eatery is planning on starting a sustainability program! They have  started to consult and expert to get advice and suggest programs. They are hoping to start this program by the end of the month. If you have not eaten her you must go NOW! The food is exceptional and priced just right. Earl and his staff will make you feel right at home.

Por Qué No is serving up Marcos’ family recipe for Chorizo…it is now on the menu and it is delicious!

HAPPY NEW AND IMPROVED MISSISSIPPI STUDIOS ONE YEAR ANNIVERARY!

Wow, what an epic year we’ve had! Its hard to fathom that it was just one tiny year ago that our doors re-opened as the new and improved Mississippi Studios.  From humble beginnings (remember our old 85 person capacity?) to hosting hundreds of amazing shows in our spanky new 300 capacity digs – including super legendary evenings with artists like Vic Chesnutt, The Gossip, Blind Pilot, The Budos Band, Black Joe Lewis, Do Make Say Think, Mirah, The Cave Singers and piles more.  Tonight Willamette Week joins us in presenting – A SWELLEBRATION in honor of our one year anniversary, and what a sweet lineup of local heavy hitters! SALLIE FORD AND THE SOUND OUTSIDE have been taking Portland by storm with their fresh yet vintage take on bluesy rock and roll. Their old-timey tunes are adored by even the Avett Brothers, who were so impressed by a performance that they personally asked this young band to join them on tour. Nobody pushes the boundaries of pop so expertly in Portland as DIRTY MITTENS. “They are sweet (yes) and twinkly (sometimes), and singer Chelsea Morrissey’s voice will remind you instantly of a holy mishmosh of some of the greats” (Spectre Entertainment). And as if our stage could fit any more awesomeness, tonight’s celebration also features TAHOE JACKSON, YELTSIN, MATT SHEEHY & THE MENDERS, RUN ON SENTENCE, SEAN FLINN & THE ROYAL WE, ADAM SHEARER, HOLCOMBE WALLER, LAURA GIBSON, and JUSTIN POWER. Wow. Get here early!  Capacity is limited to what we can fit in the room at any given time and admission is FREE!  But lucky you it’s a long night – /show will run from 8pm- to at least 1am - so get ready for some fun!!

How about some fun for the kiddos? Mississippi Treehouse offers a class every Friday at 12:30,  Musical Sing a-long and Story Time with Tyleena . This Saturday, March 6th @ 2:00-  Musical Games and Movement class and Monday, March 8th-  Portland Early Learning Project returns for a free Sign Language in Play class.  This is a great intro class to baby sign language.

Save the dates of Saturday, April 24 for Spring Greening, Saturday, June 12 for Cirque Du Cycling and Saturday, July 10 for our Street Fair!
